about

Fun free release! Yoda and Chunjay reunite to rap about what they did together when they first met: street art.

Yoda was in Royal Ruckus from late 1998 to 2001.

lyrics

concrete art gallery

chorus:
we hitting up museums, checking colors on walls
brick and mortar, stucco, spray paint art halls
epitaphs for autographs, fools forget the past
rappers couldn't find murals if ya gave em all maps

yoda, verse 1:
walls of graffiti, some people think it's gritty
old school styles and I love to rock cities
grew up on this form
regular life, night crawlers torn
in two
this art form only chooses few
mixing up my colors like i was cooking stew
tryin to figure me out like you was playing clue
but i play cool let loose to this art and craft true
the only art form generated by youth
yo secret identities transformed in phone booths
doing roll calls inside bathroom stalls
doing these roll calls because that's what keeps it raw
the voices on the wall
to some it's nothing, but to us it's all
and that's all
i left behind law breaking after the seasons
but never stopped enjoying concrete museums

chunjay, verse 2:
I was only 13 when I first started tagging
sagging pants for a while, an my style was lagging
came up in the suburbs attracted to the streets
dug the Beasties, Real Roxanne, UTFO beats
started with the music, fell in love with the culture
b-boys and deejays we used walls not sculptures
vultures tried to tear apart the best of hip-hop
cart before the horse had us yelling -- hey -- stop
head of a tagging crew, in over my head
never lived on Baker Street, but the rumors sure spread
markers, pockets, windows, mean streaks
spray cans, back packs, ducking mom with the sneak
i played the fool...and ended up in cuffs
fell down on my face at the church down by the bluffs
I left behind that law breaking after a season
but never stopped enjoying concrete art museums
